Slope Factors with the Perimeter Tool
It is possible to apply a Slope (or pitch) factor to a Perimeter. This factor can be applied to an Elevation view or a Plan view. The Slope factor extrapolates the actual length of a sloped linear measurement shown in two (2) dimensions on a plan. This tool is used mostly to measure angled roof and siding elements.
Ex. # 1 : A roof valley with a 8/12 (or 34°) slope, measured without a slope factor :
Here is the result : (15' 10-3/4" + 19' 10-1/8") :
Now, let's apply the appropriate Slope factor (8/12 or 34°) in elevation view in the Properties grid.
It is also possible to insert the Slope factor while creating an Perimeter group :

Active Takeoff detects the horizontal lines (only when the "Elevation View" is selected). It will not apply a Slope factor to these lines as long as they do not deviate from the horizontal by ± 3°.
