The Extensions

The extensions are modules that can be added to a measuring tool. They will generate extra results to the raw results measured by the tool.

One or many extensions can be added to the measuring tool. The extensions can also be saved in a template for future use.

When creating a measuring group, the "Create..." window opens on the "Properties" tab. Click on the "Extensions" tab and on the "Select an Extension" button.

In the "Extension details" window, we find two (2) dropdown menus :

Category : Selects the "trade" (Painting, insulation, drywall...) which filters the contents of the second dropdown menu.

Usage type : Displays the available choices for the selected "trades".

In this example, the Area tool is selected. It will be associated with the "Cellulose for Attics" extension from the "Insulation" category.

The extensions are closely linked to specific products. To obtain sound results, some extra data must be entered in dropdown menus, numeric fields or measure fields (imperial (US) or metric). When all appropriate data is entered, click the "OK" button and start to measure.

Once the measurement is done, the Properties panel will display the group results and the extension results in separate tabs :

It is possible to associate other extensions to an object, to modify the configuration of an existing extension or to delete an associated extension from a group :

To manage the associated extensions to a group, select the "Extensions" tab at the bottom of the Properties panel. In this tab, three (3) buttons allow to :

Insert an extension
Modify the configuration of an existing extension
Delete an extension

Insert an extension

Insert a new extension to a group by clicking the "Insert an Extension" button. The process is the same as creating an extension for a new group.

In this example, an extension is inserted for the Ceiling Drywall. There are now two (2) extensions associated with the area group.

Modifier the configuration of an existing extension

There are two (2) ways to modify the configuration of an extension in the interface :

By selecting the extension to modify and clicking on the extension data in the Extension tab of the Properties panel.

By selecting the extension to be modified and clicking on the "Modify Configuration" in the "Extension" tab.

Delete an extension

To delete an associated extension from a group, click on the "Extensions" tab in the Properties panel, select the extension to be deleted and click on the "Delete Configuration" button.

A delete confirmation will be displayed :
